Robert Barkin

mug shots 005 optRobert Barkin has been a leader in marketing communications and management consulting for nonprofit and for-profit organizations for over 20 years. Most recently, he was interim executive vice president of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation (JRF), the Philadelphia-based international umbrella organization for over 100 synagogues in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Robert is the president of Arkos Group, a consulting group focused on marketing communications for nonprofit and for-profit organizations, including a number of Fortune 500 compaines. He has been and remains active as a board member and board president of national nonprofits. His position at JRF was a service contract through Arkos Group. Robert is also a partner in T3np (www.T3np.com), an integrated services organization that provides management consultation to nonprofits in the areas of marketing, development and financial operations.

In his nonprofit work, he is a vice president and currently serves as executive director of Jewish Art Education (www.jarted.org), a nonprofit dedicated to expanding knowledge about the Jewish visual arts. In addition to his consulting work, Robert is a frequent contributor to national magazines on public sector issues, including financial management, marketing and human resources. He has won a number of awards for his writing. He is also asked to speak on issues related to his nonprofit expertise.

He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has graduate degrees from the University of Miami School of Business and Columbia Journalism School. He was previously a reporter and editor for a number of national newspapers. He resides in Bethesda, MD.
